Here we go again.
We’re giving another stab at being gardeners.
During the Spring, we planted some things and saw a little bit of fruit from our labors (no actual “fruit”… mainly vegetables and herbs).
This past weekend, we made a last minute decision to head over to a Fall gardening class that was free and learn a few things. This inspired us to give it another go. Then we went over to the Hendricks and took a lot of their stuff (like we always do) because they are generous and have yet to figure out that I am a complete moocher!
I didn’t know what to think about actually planting something from seed. I didn’t know if I would be patient enough to water it and see no results for a while.
Then… this afternoon, I walked outside and couldn’t believe my eyes… we actually had little things coming through the dirt. First thing that went through my mind was Crowder’s song “Wholly“… after that, I ran inside like a little kid and told Sara that she had to come see quickly (as though they would go away if she didn’t hurry… with our luck they actually may go away though).
So, you’re looking at what I presume to be the beginning of an enormous cucumber plant.
Here’s what we have on par for this season: tomato, cucumber, spinach, bell pepper, squash, carrots, broccoli.
I’m also trying to revive our thriving: mint, parsley and basil.
Here’s to trying to get closer to our food source!

I am impressed!
